The VOLK Electric Tow Tractor EFZ 80 N has a huge battery capacity of 80 V / 1.550 Ah, split into
two battery trays of 40 V / 1.550 Ah each. It is in the nature of things that batteries of such a power also have a considerable weight: about 1.800 kg per battery tray.
In view of these starting conditions, the EFZ 80 N electric
tractor is fitted with two lateral battery openings in order
to make the handling during battery changes as easy as possible. The battery compartment doors have a large opening angle of 180 degrees, enabling an easy and un-
complicated battery change by means of a hand pallet truck or fork-lift truck. Safety contacts ensure that the ve-
hicle may only be moved when the battery compartment doors are properly locked.
Of course, the batteries may also be charged on board
the vehicle without any problems. To this end, the battery compartment has adequately sized ventilation cross-sec-
tions.
