The
VOLK Hybrid Tow Tractor HFZ 20 N is serially fitted with inching controls with automatically engaged and disengaged brakes. This system is activated and deacti-
vated with a switch in the driver’s cabin. When activated,
it is possible to carefully shunt the vehicle for- and back-
wards during the hitching process by means of two for-
ward/backward buttons mounted at the rear side of the vehicle in an easily accessible waist high position (max.
driving range set to 30 cm by default for security reasons). If the inching buttons are released the vehicle’s parking brake is automatically engaged, thus stopping the vehic-
le. In an emergency situation the vehicle can also be
stopped immediately by a red mushroom-type emergen-
cy stop button.
